AKR was formally established in Surabaya, East Java in 1977 as an integrated supply
and logistics business specializing in basic chemicals. Its beginning stretches
back to the early 1960’s when a chemical trading company was established. A pioneering attitude has driven the company into becoming a market leader in range of chemicals handled and developing an efficient and extensive network of logistics facilities to handle bulk commodities. In the fast deregulating Indonesian downstream petroleum industry, AKR is leading the way through a fast growth in supply of quality fuels imported from reputed oil majors for supply to Industrial customers supported by its network of logistics facilities which ensures Quality and Assured supplies. AKR group is one of the World’s largest manufacturers of Sorbitol and starch derivatives, with plants in Indonesia and China exporting to Quality conscious MNC customers world wide; today AKR group is transforming into a agro-based manufacturer based on sustained natural, renewable resources for supplying products to multitude of personal product manufacturers. Capitalizing on its strategic presence in the important ports, AKR offers reliable, effective infrastructure, logistics and cargo management services for bulk liquids and commodities. It has also made significant investments in river ports of Guigang located in the upstream of the fast growing Pearl river delta in South China. AKR was listed in the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock exchanges in 1994. |
