JAKARTA, August 13th, 2019 - PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (IDX ticker code: AKRA.IJ) announced that today, a JV subsidiary with Air BP, PT Dirgantara Petroindo Raya (DPR) has officially opened the first Aircraft Filling Depot (Depot Pengisian Pesawat Udara - DPPU) at Special Airport of Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP). With the commercial operation in IMIP, the Company becomes the first private company that distributes aviation fuel in Indonesia.
The joint venture company Air BP - AKR Aviation, which operates under the name of PT DPR, has intends to support the development of Indonesia’s aviation industry and contribute to the growth of its economy by investing in infrastructure, applying the latest innovative technology and operational best practices for the supply of aviation fuel. The demand of aviation fuel in Indonesia has been increasing rapidly in line with the high growth of aviation sector, supported by population and economic growth.
The DPPU launching was held in conjunction with the launching of IMIP Special Airport, where PT IMIP is an Industrial Estate located in Morowali, Sulawesi Tengah. The inauguration was attended by Mr.Hamid Mina, President Commissioner of PT IMIP, along with the board of directors and officials of PT IMIP, President Director of AKRA Mr.Haryanto Adikoesoemo along with top management of AKR Group, Head of Country BP Indonesia Mr. Suryo Wibowo, The Director of PT DPR Mrs.Virita Harlistyanti, and several other VIP.

Virita Harlistyanti, as the President Director of PT DPR, explained, "The filling depot which will be operated by PT DPR at the IMIP Special Airport is an aviation fuel storage facility equipped with direct-to-plane filling services. We hope by this cooperation, the IMIP Industrial Estate will be further developed in Indonesia and in the world. "
Mr. Hamid Mina as President Commissioner of PT IMIP gave statement, "IMIP Special Airport is now able to handle large aircraft such as Airbus, Falcon and Hercules. By the opening of IMIP Special Airport and Aviation Fuel filling terminal, connectivity to Morowali- Sulawesi Tengah will be developed and will provide access to the development of industrial estate in Indonesia. "
In the event, Mr. Haryanto Adikoesoemo also expressed his hope that IMIP Airport to become an important hub in Sulawesi and in Eastern Indonesia. Mr Suryo Wibowo as representative from BP, also expressed pride for this first launching. Both AKR and BP also expressed gratitude to the relevant parties, hoping that PT IMIP and PT DPR become a long-term partner that provides mutual values. Meanwhile for PT AKR Corporindo Tbk, the cooperation with PT IMIP has been established since 2010.
