AKR Corporindo wins B20 Sustainability 4.0 Award HSBC Net Zero Transition Award - Investment in Clean Energy

JAKARTA, 19 October 2022 – PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (IDX stock code: AKRA.IJ) received with honor HSBC Net Zero Transition Award for category Investment in Clean Energy in the event  B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards held on 18th October 2022. This prestigious award sponsored by HSBC was finalized after assessment of 100 listed companies in Indonesia for their initiatives in energy transition towards zero-carbon emission target, whether it is related to investment, innovation, or community involvement in developing clean energy.

The B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards is the first prestigious collaboration event between Europe and Indonesia, that was held line with Indonesia's B20 priority agendas to create stronger, inclusive, and collaborative economic growth. This prestigious event took theme of “Supporting Sustainable Development in Indonesia” and was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce Indonesia, KADIN Indonesia, and the European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham) as part of the G20 Indonesia Presidency event. This event was attended by Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia; Mr. H.E. Kurt Kunz – Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia; Mr. H.E. Vincent Piket – EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam; Mr. Christophe Piganiol – Chair of the B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards; and Mrs. Shinta W. Kamdani – Chair of B20 Indonesia 2022.

AKR was included in the screening of 100 companies which are constituent stocks of KOMPAS 100 and SRI KEHATI Indices and based on the Sustainability Report with SDG No 7 assessment indicator. From the desk assessment conducted, 6 Companies were shortlisted as finalists from which 3 companies won the Awards. The jury comprised of eminent professionals from Kompas Litbang, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the World Research Institute Indonesia, and HSBC Indonesia. 

AKR presented the following programs which are part of the Company’s energy transition journey:

1. Improving efficiency and reducing emission by utilizing digital system that enable tracking and monitoring system for our products and fleet’s location, product condition in terms of quantity, temperature, etc. and help in distribution plan
   
2. Utilizing clean and/or renewable energy in daily operations including plans to participate in the EV Revolution
3. Progress and strategy to develop Java Integrated Industrial & Port Estate (KEK JIIPE Gresik) as a green industrial estate that provides facilities with international standard and benefits Industrial clients who are setting up shop in JIIPE including:
