KEK-JIIPE installs Xurya Solar Panels as commitment to use New Renewable Energy

Jakarta, 10 February 2022 - PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS), a subsidiary of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk. (IDX ticker code: AKRA.IJ), as the manager of the JIIPE Gresik SEZ has installed Xurya Solar Panels supplied by PT Xurya Daya Indonesia (Xurya).   The installation of PLTS Roof is part of AKR & BKMS commitment to increase the use of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) in the Industrial Estate and Integrated Port in Gresik, East Java.  The installation of 764 solar panels on the roof of the utility center building located in the JIIPE industrial area complex will support in accelerating the implementation of EBT in Indonesia.

JIIPE is the first integrated project in Indonesia with a total area of 3,000 hectares consisting of an industrial estate, a multifunctional public port, and a residential concept with an independent city located in Gresik, East Java. The installation of PLTS Roof is in line with one of the company's visions, which is to become a leading integrated industrial area by supporting the industrial sector through sustainable energy.

The installation of PLTS Roof in the utility center building is one form of our contribution in the utilization of new and renewable energy for industrial areas in East Java.”

Xurya is a renewable energy startup that has pioneered the no-investment method in financing PLTS Rooftops.  It understands the importance of the role of industrial estates in accelerating the energy mix in Indonesia. This implementation is also a form of support for the government to create a new market for New and Renewable Energy (EBT) through the Renewable Energy Base Industry Development (REBID) program.

We really appreciate the move of the JIIPE Gresik Special Economic Zone to increase the use of EBT in industrial areas in East Java."

With the installation of PLTS Roof in its industrial area, JIIPE will save 483,917 kWh and reduce CO2 production by 451,978 kg annually. This amount of CO2 is equivalent to planting 5,671 trees for 10 years and using 126,236 liters of gasoline per year.
