JIIPE : German speciality company Clariant breaks ground for new factory

JAKARTA – 6th November 2015

Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (“JIIPE”) held the ground breaking ceremony for Clariant, a world leader in speciality chemicals. Clariant has acquired the land in JIIPE (Java Integrated Industrial & Port Estate ) located in Gresik, Surabaya to build a new strategic site that will serve the growing production needs of different Business Units from Clariant's Southeast Asia and Pacific region.

Conveniently located in Gresik, 24km from the capital city of East Java - Surabaya, JIIPE is the first fully integrated industrial estate established in Indonesia with its deep sea port and with excellent connectivity to multi modal transportation facilities such as toll roads, railway, international airport connecting Surabaya and major cities in East Java.

The ground breaking ceremony was held at JIIPE in the presence of Mr Jimmy Tandyo (Director of AKR Corporindo), Mr Bambang Soetiono (Director of AKR Corporindo), Mr Francois Bleger (Regional President for South East Asia & Pacific) along with other members of Clariant’s senior management team including Mr Hans Herrel (Country President for Indonesia) and Mr Christian Kohlpaintner (Executive Committee).

Clariant in their statement view East Java as one of the fast developing and important industry hubs in Indonesia, “JIIPE has good logistical connections with container and bulk port facilities for efficient local and international deliveries to other islands and overseas. JIIPE will enable the company to have a multi-BU site and because of JIIPE’s integration the company can leverage secured sources of energy and great logistic support available at the industrial park” the Company said in the press release sent out after the event.
